It is very freeing to start unloading clutter around the house. It' amazing to me how many things I find that I have set aside for a project or that I think I needed only to realize I never used it. I am awful about saving things like coffee cans and jars and egg cartons. Of course, they all come in handy but you have to put them to use or they just take up valuable space.
I'm just in the middle of my week of purge and there will be more bags, boxes and items that will go on Saturday. Today, I'm tackling the book shelf and will b ridding myself of all the books I have read over the year and make room for new books. I do love to read and can collect a lot of books in a years time. Most often, I buy them from the thrift store or used book sales so it's perfect to return them and donate them back to share them with others.
You are probably thinking to yourself right now, "why don't you have a yard sale?" Well, first we live in no mans land and it would feel like a trip down the "Wrong Turn" horror movie lane for yard salers to come to a sale at my house and secondly, it's way too much work and hassle when you can donate your items to a thrift store that helps the community.
On another note, I have to show off my crazy Evie, our Great Pyrenees. She was taking a nap and I had to sneak a photo of her. She sleeps like a rock when she's sleeping and even snores. I had to laugh watching her napping.
The weather is getting colder by the day with the polar vortex moving south and covering the upper mid west with snow. You would think living in Georgia none of that would be our concern. But, we are expecting some really cold temperatures coming tomorrow and into the weekend. I am definitely not ready for this long cold winter that is headed our way again this year. I hope every one is ready and keeps warm if they are affected.
As soon as I get all my purging complete and have some free time, I am going to start doing a few Christmas crafts to get ready for the holidays. I'll be sharing them as I create them. I am looking forward to getting all my "tasks" done so I can spend time doing things I like to do!
